AI Transparency Statement

How AI is used on the Platform and your rights regarding automated decisions.

The Carrier Hub Ltd is committed to transparency about how artificial intelligence and automated decision-making systems are used on the Platform. This statement is provided in accordance with UK GDPR Article 22 and the ICO's guidance on AI and data protection.

1. AI Features on the Platform

The Carrier Hub uses AI and machine learning in the following areas:

2. Automated Decision-Making

Under UK GDPR Article 22, you have rights in relation to automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. The following automated decisions are made on the Platform:

  • Document expiry alerts: Automated notifications sent when compliance documents approach expiry. These are informational and do not restrict your account.
  • Fraud detection flags: Where our systems identify potential fraudulent activity, your account may be automatically flagged for human review. A human reviewer will assess all flagged accounts before any suspension action is taken.
  • Identity liveness check: An AI system (Google Gemini) analyses your selfie photograph to determine whether it shows a real, live person. If the check fails, you will receive a detailed explanation and the opportunity to retake your photo. A human compliance reviewer can override AI decisions. This check does not perform facial recognition against any external database.

No fully automated decisions with legal or significant effects are made without human review.

3. AI Limitations and Accuracy

AI-generated outputs on the Platform, including price predictions and carrier matching scores, are estimates and suggestions only. They are not guarantees of accuracy, market rates, or carrier performance. You should not rely solely on AI-generated outputs when making commercial decisions.

Price predictions are based on historical data and may not reflect current market conditions, fuel prices, or regional variations. Carrier matching scores are based on available profile data and do not constitute a recommendation or endorsement of any carrier.

4. Human Oversight

All AI systems on the Platform are subject to ongoing human oversight. Our team regularly reviews AI outputs for accuracy, fairness, and bias. If you believe an AI-generated output has adversely affected you, you may request human review by contacting [email protected].

5. Data Used to Train AI Models

We use aggregated, anonymised Platform data to improve our AI models. This data does not identify individual users. We do not use your personal data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

6. Third-Party AI Services

The Platform uses the following third-party AI services:

  • Manus Forge API -- powers conversational AI features and load matching assistance
  • OpenAI / Whisper -- powers voice transcription features (where used)

These services process data in accordance with their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request an explanation of any AI-generated decision that affects you
  • Request human review of any automated decision
  • Object to automated processing of your personal data
  • Opt out of non-essential AI features where technically feasible
